So the corporate funding cut wouldn’t have an affect on producing visual arts programs. Even if some of the visual arts programs disappeared from the television, it’s unclear if the number of residents watching visual arts programs would decrease. If people tend to have more interests in visual arts than before, then it’ll be possible for more residents to watch television programs about the visual arts. If this is the case, there might be no reason to reallocate some of the city’s funds to public television. Last, the city’s council misinterprets the recent citywide poll. It’s doubtful that residents who watched visual arts programs actually visited the city’s art museums. Maybe many of the art museums visitors were students who didn’t participate in the citywide poll. Even if the number of people visiting the city’s art museums has increased by a similar percentage, nobody knows whether the increase in the art museums visits are similar with the increase in people watching visual arts programs.
