I confess that I couldn’t drink what I wanted to have when I took an American airline. Even I ordered coke and milk at that time, but the flight attendant didn’t understand what I meant. So all I had to do was to speak loudly on ears of to the flight attendant. I have no idea why it’s so hard for me to get to drink what I want to have in the airplane. As far as I’m concerned, there are two main reasons why many Koreans have problems in with English pronunciation. One is that we learn English from Korean teachers. I believe that nowadays English teachers in Korea are fluent in English and teach their students well. But in my generation, most of the English teachers in Korea had strong Korean accents, and we learned their English without any doubt. Another reason is that Koreans had been focusing to learn grammar and reading in English. So there is little chance for Korean students to speak in English. It makes Koreans to feel terrified when they should need to speak to foreigners in English.
