My mood was bad. It might be because I had beaten my firstborn son yesterday. He had cried because he did not want to take a shower. although he dumped his load. He asked his mom to come to the bathroom while she was had been taking care of his brother. I could no longer listen to his crying.   and spray water on his face. While When I took him to the shower, he didn’t stop crying. So I slapped him on his back. Finally, my wife came to the bathroom and embraced him to for soothe him.  ing. I thought sometimes parents need to beat their children to let them know what is right. But I feel very bad the day after even a day passed away since I had hit my son. My friend said he to started beating his son when his son was 5 years old and he never hits his son when he is upset or angry. He thinks it’s important that personal feelings should not come into play when parents beat their children. I agreed with him and next time I will punish my son and make let him raise his arms for a while if he does did something wrong. and my  My wife and I feel we need to educate him with punishments.

John, your writing about this tells me that you are concerned about how you punished your son.  I am no one to tell someone else how to live his life; I do know that I also have struggled with how to get children to obey and to listen to their parents; as you know sometimes it is critical that they do.  As your friend I want to help. Then I realized that when I was young, punishment did not help me.  I did not change any of my behavior because I was punished.  I did change when my parents talked to me and listened to me.  So for me, finding ways to talk to my children is what helped me to raise our three children until they left home.  I hope you can find what helps you.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.  I know how difficult it is to find a way that works.
